Credentials & Expertise
Scott Thatcher is a senior finance leader who works alongside owners, CEOs, management teams, boards, lenders, and investors as a strategic advisor — bringing CFO-level judgment and public accounting expertise to complex, capital-intensive, and regulated organizations in an independent advisory capacity.
Scott brings extensive senior finance leadership across complex, capital-intensive, project-based, and highly regulated organizations. As a strategic business partner, he works with owners, executives, and boards to turn financial insight into decisions, align finance with operations and growth, evaluate risk and capital priorities, and build the systems and teams required to scale.
His experience spans construction, renewable energy, government contracting, defense, and technology. Across these environments, he has guided organizations through rapid growth, complex contract economics, liquidity and capital planning, audit and regulatory scrutiny, enterprise-systems transformation, and M&A — with a consistent focus on stronger visibility, sound governance, and confident execution.
Scott brings deep strategic fluency in the financial and compliance demands of DOD and government contracting — including how regulatory requirements, contract structures, pricing, indirect costs, and reporting affect competitiveness, profitability, and enterprise risk. His prior work supporting DOD programs was performed under a Top-Secret clearance; no current clearance is held or implied.
The Approach
Scott engages as a senior strategic partner — sitting alongside leadership to connect financial reporting with operations, contracts, project economics, capital allocation, risk, and growth. That means structuring analysis to support executive decisions and board governance, challenging assumptions constructively, evaluating tradeoffs and priorities with rigor, and providing hands-on follow-through. Every engagement is built on decision-grade financial reporting, strong internal controls, and the kind of insight that moves the business forward.
